SEO for Blogspot Blogger is very difficult since Blogger doesn’t support any plugin facility. As everyone is aware that Yoast and rank math plugins are best for SEO optimization, but both are useless for Blogspot bloggers. So, how the Blogspot blogger could optimize their posts for SEO more precisely ON-PAGE SEO. Stay with me to the end of the article to know how a Blogspot blogger could perform SEO without any plugin.
NOTE: This article is specially written for Blogspot bloggers to help them to increase their SEO Score.
When you thought about writing an article, at that moment set a word/words in your mind or write in down on paper. You need to focus on that key phrases or keywords. The focus keyphrase is the phrase that you want your post to be found for in search results. You can focus on the single word but mostly keyphrase is consists of 2-4 words.
For example, if you want your article to rank for keyword “positive thoughts” then you should focus on this keyword more and provide density to this specific keyword. You could even choose a longer keyphrase like “positive thoughts for students” or “life-changing positive thoughts“
Here is the list of rules you should follow to improve your SEO Score card
What's inside
I am writing down each and every rule, tip and trick which you should strictly follow to optimize your blog for SEO. I will be describing in detail where the keywords should be placed and how to handle the images etc.
Keywords are always your first step towards a successful SEO. Always make sure to put your keyword at the beginning of the article. Never ever forget this rule.
Never use the keywords which you have used in your other posts, always maintain the variety
After perfectly positioning your keyword, the second most important task is to handle image alt attributes properly. This is also important for google image search engine.
Let me briefly explain to you what are the image Alt attributes/tags. These are just alternative words provided to the image which is shown when someone is unable to view the image. Reason could be anything like slow internet speed, broken images.
Quick note: Make sure to rename the images before uploading. Never upload an image with the name like img0593, 080830 etc. Always put your keyword in the name as well as in the Alt tag.
Basically there are 9 types of keywords short tail, long tail, short-term, long-term, product defining, customer defining, geo-targeting, LSI, and intent targeting. All of these keywords if used perfectly could enhance your on-page SEO
I strongly suggest that your focus keyword length should be between 2-4 words. I agreed that Smaller keywords searched more often and have huge search volume but they also have more competition and are very difficult to rank. So always focus on long-tail keywords which might have lower search volume but they are easy to rank and possess quality viewers.
If your article is too lengthy then you should divide it with smaller paragraphs. More often Paragraph requires a subheading. Ideal Paragraph length is around 100-200 words, so anything lengthier than the limit could bore your readers, which a blogger can’t afford at any cost.
While provide subheading make sure to put your focus keyword in the subheadings. you could even use synonyms of your keyword
This is for your own good. Internal linking helps you to decrease bounce rates by providing users with other useful articles or links of their interest. But keep in mind one thing, only provide internal links to the article which are relative to each other
Outbound links are links that are meant to take you to another specific webpage or website. This is only required if you wanna redirect your traffic to some other domain, website.
The exact match of the keyword should appear in the SEO title. If you could move your keyphrase/keyword to the beginning of the title then it would be great
The focus keyphrase should appear at least 1-2% throughout the post. Which means in every 100 words it should appear once for sure. If you write longer posts like 1000-1500 words then the focus keyword should appear at least 10-15 times in the article
But make sure don’t stuff keyword unnecessarily. Only put keyword where it really requires otherwise it would reduce the readability and flow of the blog post.
When you search any article on google, Google shows results with a brief description that what is inside the post. That is named as meta description. When you publish an article google automatically fetches the meta description which is the first few lines of the article. But you can change what you wanna show in the description.
To do so, first enable search description in the blogger settings, and then while in the editing mode provide the meta description/ search description. Google’s search results show only 150 words in the meta description field. So, make sure your meta description should not waste or overuse the limit
Add at least one CTA Call To Action keyword in the meta description like ‘click to know more’,’latest offer’ or ‘avail discount’ etc
When your text is longer as compared to others, Google has more clues to determine what the post is all about. One another advantage of lengthy text is, the longer your text, the more often your focus keyphrase appears in it.
Always write at least 1000 words in every Blog post
Optimal title width is 600PX and length is around 60 words. If your title length is more than 60 words then google can’t show proper tittle in the search results, so always make sure to write your little of the post within the limits
Permalink is the full URL address of your blog post and slug is the part of that URL which identifies the page or post. In WordPress, there are many options available to sett permalink structure. But in blogger only two options are available automatic and custom, you should always prefer custom permalink structure.
In each and every post make sure to put your focus keyword inside the permalink or slug.
When you are trying to optimize your post for SEO then more often you could spoil its readability by stuffing keywords. That’s why you need to take proper care of readability criteria. There are a few things that you should keep in mind to engage your viewers to the article
A keyword is simply a term or phrase which describes the content of your blog post. You can optimize your blog post for SEO around that specific Keyword
SEO Stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process for increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your blog through organic search results.
There are basically three types of SEO
On-page SEO
Off-Page SEO
Technical SEO
