ZEN 3 Architecture : Most significant Update Yet

Starting form the ZEN / ZEN+ which was released in 2017 based on 14nm/ 12nm to the new ZEN3 7nm in 2020 has been a Zen Journey for AMD.

ZEN 3 Architecture : Most significant Update Yet

The new ZEN 3 Architecture comes with:

  • Higher Frequency
  • Higher Instructions per clock,
  • New core layout
  • Reduced latency
  • Based on 7nm

The ZEN 3 has a new design layout which brings all the cores on to a unified 8 Core complex, this gives an acceleration advantage in the core to core communication and enables every core to access the 32Mb cache directly. Additionally a 19% Desktop IPC uplift, All this together benefits in Gaming Performance.

More branch prediction bandwidth is added which allows tackling the back to back prediction eventually reducing the delay. The direct access to the cache is very significant when it comes to gaming performance

The Ultimate Processor for Gaming and content creation: Ryzen 9 5950X

Now this one is for the users who are looking for the best processor for desktop pc it is the Ryzen 5000 series 5950X CPU. It is an amazing CPU with 16 cores and 32 Threads, up to 4.9 GHz, it breaks the Cinebench R20 Single-threaded records with a score of 640. This is what Lisa Su from AMD said about the new Ryzen 9 5950X :

Best Gaming Performance Meets the best Processor for Content creation, all of this still at 105 W

This new CPU delivers a 27% improved performance in CAD workload and 12 % improved performance in Rendering workloads, along with a 29% performance upgrade for Gaming. Ryzen 9 5950X is the best for gamers and the best for creators: The best of both worlds. The Ryzen 9 5950X is priced at $ 799 (Rs. 58296.00).

My take on Intel Vs AMD

There was a time where Intel was all over the processor market and was the leader in gaming and productivity, After the Ryzen series, everything has changed and intel seems to lack a lot when it comes to innovation and improvements, well Intel was my favorite until the ZEN 3 announced. But I still have a hope that intel might come up with new better processors, as there should be a healthy competition to make it beneficial to us users.
